Belt Conveyor

Introduction

Belt conveyor is mainly composed of rack, conveyor belt, belt roll and gearing. It can be used as a material delivery process between the initial feeding mouth and the final discharging mouth.

Belt conveyor can not only transport granular material, but also work as a rhythmic flow transportation line complied with the requirements of various industrial production processes. 

The belt conveyor can be used for horizontal transportation or inclined transportation in a convenient way, and it's widely used in mine tunnel, mine surface transportation system, open-pit and concentrator, etc. in modern industrial enterprises. 

Working principle

Belt conveyor is composed of two endpoint pulleys and a closed conveyor belt.  The pulley that drives the conveyor belt to rotate is called driving pulley or transmission drum; the other one--only used to change the movement direction of conveyor belt--is called bend pulley. Driving pulley is driven by the motor through reducer, and the conveyor belt drags relying on the friction between the driving pulley and the conveyor belt. The driving pulley is generally installed at the discharging mouth to increase traction. Material is fed on the feeding side and landed on the rotating conveyor belt, then be delivered to discharging mouth relying on the friction from conveyor belt.

Compared with other transportation equipment, such as Motorcycle, belt conveyor is the best efficient continuous coal transportation equipment with advantages of long transmission distance, large volume, continuous conveyor, etc.; reliable operation, easy to implement and centralized control. The belt conveyor has become the key equipment for coal mining. 

The belt conveyor mainly has the following characteristics: the body can be fixed easily with a belt-warehousing, the tail can be elongated or shortened complying with the coal face; can directly lay on the roadway floor without setting up foundation; compact structure, light and handy rack and convenient disassembly. When the transmission capacity is big or distance is far, we can meet the requirement by equipping with intermediate drives. According to the requirements of transmission process, it can work singly, and also can form a horizontal or inclined transportation with other equipment. 

The belt conveyor is widely used in metallurgy, coal, transportation, utilities, chemical and other departments because of its features of big conveying capacity, simple structure, easy to maintain, low cost and versatility. 

The belt conveyor can also be used in building materials, electricity, light, food, ports, ships and other industries.
